What a weekend!

Amazing atmosphere from start to finish all weekend and truly one of the best we’ve ever had.

We arrived on friday and proceeded to erect our tent, in the end coming to the conclusion that none of us were any use at putting tents up (thanks to Daz for doing the hard work in the pouring rain)

We enjoyed bands such as KASHMERE, our mates STILLIA and also THE CLONE ROSES on friday night, with many other acts impressing!

On Saturday we played at 1:15 on the Blastbeat stage and it was an absolutely top set! Compiled of solely originals, we worked our way through Partners In Crime, She’s The Beat and Town; and we feel like we smashed it!

The Rest of our time at Blackthorn was spent enjoying music, writing new music in the tent and also eating and drinking as much as possible, which didn’t end well as Brad had to erect the tent rooms alone in the dark, while Luke lay carelessly on his airbed. Liam, Duffy and Luke didn’t seem to care whether they slept on the floor or not!

Big shoutout to bands SMOKEY TABOO and HIDDEN CHARMS who absolutely smashed their sets on the Blastbeat stage on Saturday night!
It was great meeting the guys from TALES OF TWO COUNTIES who were next to us camping and gave us a few lessons on some rather different instruments!
Also, THE ENEMY proved why they are one of the UK’s top draws by putting on a faultless performance that left everyone surprised!

On the whole, Blackthorn was an amazing weekend: we didn’t stop laughing for a minute across the whole weekend and it was great to take advice from and also to watch great upcoming bands!

Thanks for all the Support,

The Patriots
